in Intracorporeal Urinary Diversion

Dear collegues!

For the forth time, we are pleased to host this practical ”hands-on” course focusing ontechnique for intracorporeal urinary diversion. Two robot’s will be used for an exclusivenumber of participants which will give you the most optimal training setting before introducing this technique in daily clinic. Practical training will be mixed with teoretical perspectives and surgical tips & tricks.

Different types of staplers (Covidien iDrive and manual stapler, and Endowrist Intuitive) will be used to give the participant insight in different techniques.

Day 1.

08:30 – 10:00 Introduction and briefing on course

  • Welcome and introduction of participants

  • Anatomic differences and similarities in pigs and

    human (Pernille Skjold Kingo)

  • Stapling and uretero-enteroanastomosis

    (Jørgen Bjerggaard Jensen)

Day 2.
08:30 
– 09:00

• Uretero-enteroanastomosis and sutures (Gitte Wrist Lam)

09:00 – 16:00 Training on pigs (2 groups of 3 participants)
Robotic training on pigs - one X-robot and one S-robot

• Exposure and clamping of the ureters• Stapling
• Ureteroentero-anastomosis
• Neobladder

16:00 Evaluation and adjourn

10:00 – 16:30 Training on pigs (2 groups of 3 participants)

  • Practical port placements and docking of the robot

  • Exposure and clamping of the ureters

  • Stapling

  • Ureteroentero-anastomosis

19:00 Dinner Down Town
No. of participants is limited to 6 - preferably (but not restricted to) consultants or senior registrars

with special interest in robotic surgery and urinary diversion)
